Estremecedor encierro de Miura con cuatro heridos por asta de toro, dos de ellos muy graves

El drama ha llevado hoy el nombre de Ermitaño. El miura , encelado con un mozo a la entrada del callejón, le ha embestido en dos ocasiones propinándole una grave cornada en el pecho sin que el resto de los corredores ni los pastores pudieran hacer nada por ayudarle. En Mercaderes un conocido corredor ha sufrido una cornada en el cuello. Los dos heridos están siendo intervenidos en el Hospital de Navarra. La tragedia ha vuelto a San Fermín.

Este año la última parte del encierro, que ha durado cinco minutos, se está revelando como la más peligrosa, aunque ya desde el principio de la carrera los de Miura han protagonizado momentos de angustia embistiendo a, por lo menos, un mozo por tramo.

Ya desde la mitad de Santo Domingo, un Miura se ha adelantado al resto de sus hermanos que corrían muy pegados a la parte izquierda de la calle. Antes de llegar a la curva, uno de los toros ha levantado y empitonado a uno de los corredores en el cuello. Se trata del mismo mozo que quedó inconsciente al resultar estampado contra la curva de Mercaderes en el último encierro que los Vitorinos protagonizaron en Pamplona.

El miura Ermitaño ha resbalado en la curva de Mercaderes y a partir de ahí se ha descolgado del resto de la manada. El Miura se ha revuelto anunciando ya todo el peligro que más tarde habría de protagonizar.

 Al final de Estafeta Ermitaño ha vuelto a caerse y al levantarse ha embestido en primer lugar a un corredor de rojo que, hecho un ovillo y protegiéndose de los impresionantes cuernos, se ha salvado de recibir una cornada. No ha tenido tanta suerte el mozo que ha sufrido la cornada en la entrada al callejón.  La tragedia ha regresado a los Sanfermines.

“Ermitaño” was a name pronounced with fear this morning. The Miura bull, a breed known for their large size, fixated on one runner at the entryway to the ring and gored him in the chest, while the shepherds and other runners risked their lives in an attempt to draw the animal away from its victim.  In Mercaderes, a well-known runner was gored in the neck.  These two runners are in the operating room of the Hospital of Navarra.  Tragedy has returned to Sanfermines on a Sunday.

This “encierro”, taking place nearly at the end of the fiesta, lasted five long minutes, and, for the moment has been the most dangerous yet.  The Miura bulls began spreading fear among those in the runway from the time they left the corrals, charging men along each stretch of the route.

From the middle of Santo Domingo, one Miura was in the lead, and the rest of the herd ran close to the left side of the street. Before reaching the curve, one of the bulls had already gored a man in the neck.  This is the very same man who was left unconscious by the bulls in the curve of Mercaderes in the last “encierro” of Vitorino bulls in Pamplona.

The Miura “Ermitaño” slipped on the wet street in the curve of Mercaderes, and, from that moment on, he remained separated from the rest of the herd. 

At the end of Estafeta Street, “Ermitaño” fell again, and after getting to his feet, charged a runner wearing red, who was able to curl himself into a fetal position and protect himself from the terribly impressive horns.  The man who was gored  at the entrance to the ring was not so lucky. Tragedy has returned to Sanfermines.
